Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the HachiCode mobile application and related services ("HachiCode", the "App", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Li Yi. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

HachiCode is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). Where these Terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the more protective provision for you as the end user applies to the licensed application itself.

1. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

2. Your content and credentials

HachiCode is a tool for editing your own files and working with your own git repositories and servers. You retain all rights to your code, files, and other content ("Your Content"). You are solely responsible for Your Content and for the credentials (such as SSH keys and access tokens) you enter into the App, including keeping them secure and having the rights to use the repositories and servers you connect to.

The App stores Your Content and credentials on your device and transmits them only to the git remotes and servers you choose to connect to. See our Privacy Policy for details.

3. Subscriptions and purchases

HachiCode offers an optional paid tier, HachiCode Pro, available as:

• an auto-renewable monthly subscription;
• an auto-renewable annual subscription; and
• a one-time (non-consuming) lifetime purchase.

The subscriptions may include an introductory free trial. Current prices, trial length, and terms are shown in the App and on the App Store before you confirm a purchase.

By purchasing, you agree to the following:

• Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price for the applicable plan.
• Free trial. If a subscription includes a free trial, it converts into a paid subscription at the standard price when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
• Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store terms; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.

All three purchase options unlock the same HachiCode Pro feature set.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to: (a) violate any law or the rights of others; (b) access systems, repositories, or data you are not authorized to access; (c) distribute malware or interfere with the App or our services; or (d) attempt to circumvent purchase, entitlement, or security mechanisms.

5. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of Your Content.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or content, arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

7. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may modify the App or these Terms from time to time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.
